Job DescriptionThis is not an all inclusive listing:
- Teaches content and skills in Science utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Adapts Science materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils.
- Selects and requisitions books and aids appropriate to the interest and maturity level of pupils; maintains required inventory controls.
- Encourages students to think independently.
- Develops standards for critical analysis.
- Evaluates pupils progress in Science skills.
- Communicates with parents.
- Participates in curriculum development.
- Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities.

- Must hold Maine Teacher Certificate with endorsement(s) 300, 350, 395 and hold an approved Maine CHRC at time of hire. The position will encompass the increasing growth of science instruction which will allow proficiency-based teaching and learning within an 8th grade cohort of students.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
