Educational Technician III - Instructional Interventionist

Starting Date: Aug 31, 2026
Position Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
  • Carry out District and school policies, rules, schedules, regulations, and goals consistent with school philosophy
  • Support students’ learning plans by fulfilling the instructional actions of the plans
  • Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills needed to meet grade‑level benchmarks
  • Create plans under the guidance of the Standards‑based Teacher, the classroom teacher and administration to implement targeted interventions for students in a small group setting and with individual students
  • Guide work set up and assigned by administration and the Standards‑based Teacher
  • Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of oral communication with students
  • Conduct small / individual social skills groups
  • Support students with transitions, routines, and procedures related to the beginning of the year, new activities, and the end of the year
  • Assist in carrying out Response to Intervention Team recommendations
  • Alert and advise the regular / special education teachers to any problem or special information about an individual student
  • Consult with classroom teacher about students’ performance and progress
  • Collect, maintain, and monitor student data and instruction pertaining to students’ individual learning plans (IEP’s)
  • Communicate with administration and other school personnel on student progress
  • Identify and utilize community volunteer resources to support learning plans
  • Assist with the supervision of children during homeroom, break, recess and lunch
  • Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips
  • Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully‑licensed teachers
  • Participate in in‑service training programs, as assigned
  • Perform such other duties that may be reasonably requested by the building administrators from time‐to‐time
  • Qualifications
    • State of Maine Certification / Endorsement for Educational Technician III
    • First Aid Training
    • Selected candidate will be subject to a criminal history background check.
    • Experience supporting students who need academic support.
    • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Ability to support struggling students.
    • Ability to conduct and supervise small group and individual instruction.
    • Knowledge of intervention strategies for supporting students not meeting grade‑level benchmarks.
    • Skills to operate under a pro‑active and flexible schedule.
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
