The Financial Advisor (FA) role is a three‑year program that provides a forgivable draw. FAs deliver financial planning guidance and sell investment management solutions to TD Wealth clients, leveraging experience to address their complex goals and enhance wealth solutions.
Responsibilities- Review financial goals and provide goals‑based investment recommendations aligned with clients’ objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for TD Wealth client relationships, managing all aspects of the client’s relationships with TD Bank and referring to Retail and Wealth partners as needed.
- Ensure all new clients receive a comprehensive onboarding experience, including discovery, financial needs analysis, introduction to the client servicing team, and completion of all required documentation.
- Partner and promote lead generation; manage goals, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Implement a process to ensure every client receives an Annual Client Review (ACR) meeting with an enhanced agenda focused on wealth needs and proactive contacts.
- Meet quarterly and annual sales goals and deepen wallet share by anticipating client needs and recommending appropriate Wealth solutions.
- Maximize profitability while ensuring an exceptional client experience.
- Identify opportunities within your portfolio and network to refer business to Retail and Small Business/Commercial Partners.
- Execute tasks in compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures (federal, state, SRO, OCC, SEC, NYDFS, etc.).
- Ensure all continuing education requirements are met.
- Implement the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and other Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence requirements per AML procedures.
- Uncover client asset needs and transition higher‑threshold clients to appropriate HNW Wealth partners.
- Provide coaching, Wealth referral training, and ongoing feedback to Retail and Small Business staff.
- Mentor new FAs, contribute to a positive and constructive work environment, and represent TD Wealth professionally to the public.
- Engage in community support and TDBG charity initiatives.
- Participate in team efforts, sharing information and knowledge, and proactively learn from other departments.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience providing advice, planning, and investment sales.
- Required licenses: SIE, Series 7, Series 63, L&H, and Series 66 (or equivalent).
- Self‑directed with strong ability to plan own activities to achieve sales and referral goals.
- Advanced understanding of wealth products and services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to travel within assigned market to meet prospects, clients, and partners five days a week.
- Strong knowledge of wealth‑management business development techniques and experience interacting with retail and small‑business banking clients.
- Consultative sales experience required.
- Proven ability to establish relationships and partner effectively with other departments.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals.
