Job Title
Job Summary:
We expect you to create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each student's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members. Provide specialized instruction and support for students identified with special needs in a flexible learning environment.
The teacher designs and implements individualized, standards-based instruction and behavioral supports that address students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs while fostering independence, confidence, and personal growth. The Teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success. Working collaboratively with families, general education teachers, related service providers, and other staff, the teacher develops positive relationships that support each student's educational and behavioral programming.
Through differentiated instruction, ongoing assessment, and evidence-based practices, the Teacher helps students build the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to achieve meaningful progress in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and individual abilities.
Qualifications:
Must have valid Connecticut Certification Number: 165 Salary Range: $51,056 - $112,079 - Competitive Benefit package
