Job Summary:

A competent Kindergarten Teacher understands growth and development, provides a safe, stimulating and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills. The teacher effectively assesses student needs and progress, and plans and adjusts instruction to achieve targeted objectives in order to meet the needs of all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans and implements curriculum where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development as it relates to the teaching-learning process
• Facilitates the independence of the student as learner
• Effectively assesses students' needs and progress
• Establishes a positive learning environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment and improve school performance
• Interacts with parents and community; maintains open and collaborative communication with parents and families
• Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with all stakeholders

Qualifications:

Must have valid Connecticut Certification in Elementary

Education:

013, 113 Early education experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:

$51,056 (BA Step
1) through $97,837 (6th Year Step 13)-Competitive benefits.
