We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Project Engineering. The Senior Engineer will lead engineering activities related to the design, development, qualification, and production support of components within Power & Controls, with a focus on the PACK and Rotating Machinery product lines. This role also involves supporting hardware issues and implementing improvements after program development and service entry.

What You Will Do
  • Initiate and coordinate Class I and Class II engineering changes and deviations using the Collins Configuration Control Board process.
  • Serve as Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) part‑level owner, including communication, risk management, and project requirements.
  • Present information to Engineering, Program Management, and Customer representatives.
  • Coordinate design changes with internal and external customers, as well as suppliers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to organize and execute multiple complex tasks.
  • Drive supplier transitions.
  • Lead cost reduction projects.
  • Analyze component reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Prior experience as Project Engineer with full product development lifecycle exposure.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Prior experience leading multifunctional teams across matrixed organizations, coordinating with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Teamcenter, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint for project scheduling, budget tracking, and task execution.
  • Experience in component testing, full product lifecycle management, and applying DFMA principles.
  • Trained in Lean/CI methods to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve quality.
