The Role
We are partnering with a well‑established, family‑owned organization seeking a Controller to take on a highly strategic and operational leadership role. This position is designed as a succession hire for the CFO, offering significant exposure to executive leadership, ownership, and long‑term decision‑making.
The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, driving process improvements, and helping modernize the finance function, while positioning themselves for advancement into a CFO‑level role.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, close process, and internal controls
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic initiatives and financial planning
- Lead process improvement, systems upgrades, and operational efficiencies
- Support organizational growth, transformation, and succession initiatives
- Provide insights and analysis to support business decision‑making
- Mentor and develop accounting staff as the organization evolves
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in process improvement, operational transformation, or system implementation
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on in a smaller environment
- Interest in long‑term growth into a CFO or executive leadership role
