The Role

We are partnering with a well‑established, family‑owned organization seeking a Controller to take on a highly strategic and operational leadership role. This position is designed as a succession hire for the CFO, offering significant exposure to executive leadership, ownership, and long‑term decision‑making.

The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, driving process improvements, and helping modernize the finance function, while positioning themselves for advancement into a CFO‑level role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, close process, and internal controls
  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic initiatives and financial planning
  • Lead process improvement, systems upgrades, and operational efficiencies
  • Support organizational growth, transformation, and succession initiatives
  • Provide insights and analysis to support business decision‑making
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff as the organization evolves
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience in process improvement, operational transformation, or system implementation
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on in a smaller environment
  • Interest in long‑term growth into a CFO or executive leadership role
