Purpose Of The Job / Position Description

Perform a wide variety of tasks required to provide full maintenance and repair services to support manufacturing operations, including maintenance of buildings, utilities and other facilities. Operate independently to troubleshoot, analyze systems, determine and execute corrective actions. Apply mentoring and training skills when working with others. Must be fully oriented to operations throughout the site and capable of responding in a timely, safe and decisive manner to emergency situations.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot, analyze and determine corrective action for a wide range of equipment or systems malfunctions or failures as required. Assure all work is properly documented within the Maintenance Work Order system.
• Perform preventive, predictive, routine and emergency work in support of the Division asset management objectives to optimize equipment performance and extend service life.
• Apply electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, piping, welding, HVAC, or other craft skills as necessary to make emergency repairs or when personnel with such skills are not available.
• Perform work in accordance good maintenance practice and safety program objectives to achieve high quality results.
• Assume a leadership role when required to coordinate efforts of others in meeting company objectives.

Additional Functions

• Assist Engineers and Designers in troubleshooting and system development projects.
• M ay be assigned to assist project managers in support of Capital Investment initiatives.
• Provide training and instruction to maintenance craftspeople as required.
• M ust have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for his/her own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks.
• This position is additionally responsible as part of the manufacturing flexibility program to cross-train and be fully qualified to work in an at least one other alternate position within the manufacturing operation.

Work Experience Needed

10 years experience in primary skill plus a general knowledge of a wide variety of other vocational skills. An exhibited aptitude for working effectively with others is also required.

Qualifications

Use a wide range of hand and power tools and equipment to perform maintenance installation, repair and rebuild of production equipment and facilities. Work environment is varied requiring performance of tasks throughout the facility. Exposed to inherent factory conditions and must use ladders, cranes, hoists, and industrial trucks and material handling equipment. Mental acuity and manual dexterity is required to perform tasks, observe safety requirements and read and comprehend technical manuals, work order instructions and engineering prints and diagrams.

Must be capable of unassisted handling of materials up to 50 pounds.
