We’re seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer to support operations during second shift at our client’s aerospace manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, CT. This role will work directly with shop floor teams to reduce ANDON events, address non‑conformance issues, and drive process improvements that improve quality and yield. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver with experience supporting high‑mix aerospace production environments, strong communication skills, and a practical understanding of core manufacturing processes including machining, welding, assembly, and inspection.
Responsibilities- Rapidly respond to ANDON notifications and resolve floor‑level issues that impact operator productivity (e.g., unclear work instructions, inadequate tooling, etc.)
- Investigate non‑conformance trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality
- Collaborate with operators to build trust and ensure issues are captured and addressed effectively
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including standard work development and TPM activities
- Support ongoing shop transformation and capital projects
- Attend daily turnover meetings between 1st and 2nd shifts and provide weekly updates on progress
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
- Prior experience supporting manufacturing operations in aerospace or precision metal fabrication (internships considered)
- Familiarity with work instructions and documentation systems such as Solumina or similar MES platforms
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, hydraulic pressing, heat treat, CNC grinding, deburr, spot welding, and coating
- Basic understanding of tool design and fixture evaluation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and cross‑functionally
- Due to the nature of the work, ship is required
- Experience with process troubleshooting and hands‑on production support
- Comfort working on second shift in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment
- Knowledge of NX or similar tools for drafting or simple CAM edits
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and non‑conformance management

Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $35.00‑40.00 per hour, varying by education, qualifications, experience, discipline, geographic location, market, and business considerations.
