Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector/Material Handler at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
Weekly pay: $20.00 per hour with a possibility of $2.00 increase after 90 days.
Schedule:
Second Shift Monday - Friday, 12:00pm – 8:30pm.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1‑2 years or more in carpentry, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred.
- Ability to comprehend basic math.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work within a diverse work environment.
- Highly thorough and dependable.
- Must be punctual with a good attendance record.
- Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possesses a high degree of initiative.
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
- Works independently and as part of a team.
- Be a team player and create professional relationships with peers, supervisors, and customers.
- Operate power equipment safely.
- Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs; twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently.
- Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
- Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting.
- Stand and walk for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day).
- Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator:
- Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards.
- Manually lift 70‑lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line, and lift pallets for inspection and separation using the palamatic machine.
- Quality:
- Ensure proper inspection and separation meets standards.
- Inventory:
- Conduct physical inventories as required.
- Safety and Security:
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Conduct operations that promote safety.
- Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
- Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
