Receive, prepare purchased parts and sub assemblies, assemble, test, balance, rework, verify, process and ship environmental control systems, and components to maintain the flow of work while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures. What You Will Do
  • Sub assemble, assemble, disassemble, balance, set-up test equipment, and test product to standard procedures.
  • Investigate malfunctions, realign and readjust product and make necessary parts replacements.
  • Receive, unload, check, record, prepare, inventory, store, disburse and deliver a variety of materials, products and equipment.
  • Maintain rough stores, cribs, gage cabinets, and point of use storage areas. Order, organize, and store such items as supplies, materials, chemicals and tools.
  • Operate drying ovens.
  • Mix and apply coatings as required.
  • Monitor the flow of work, recommend and implement changes to maintain deliveries to customer requirements.
  • Participate in review, analysis and ordering of purchased parts and materials to ensure appropriate inventory levels. Communicate with suppliers on delivery and quality concerns.
  • Safety wire, prepare product and make and apply nameplates and package for shipment.
  • Fabricate and repair containers.
  • Ensure notification of transportation agencies when required.
  • Review open purchased and shop part requirements. Review regularly with internal suppliers and purchasing. Coordinate and expedite deliveries as required.
  • Use various measuring instruments such as hardness testers and micrometers; also voltage, temperature, and current monitors. Monitor and adjust equipment and processes to specifications.
  • Check work visually and dimensionally using required documentation to verify configurations, quality, and identify nonconformance from workmanship of self and others.
  • Prepare micros and test pieces using equipment such as grinders, cutters, sanders and polishers. Prepare material for laboratory test.
  • Perform material evaluation and analysis. Release purchased material from receiving inspection.
  • Check calibration of equipment in accordance with procedures. Record and document as required.
  • Participate in audits of processes, procedures and work areas.
  • Use computers and office equipment to record and process transactions.
  • Utilize and maintain all necessary documentation such as logs, reports, charts, sampling plans, statistical process control records, and nonconformance documents.
  • Perform periodic maintenance such as cleaning fixtures and equipment, adding fluids, changing filters, and tightening fasteners.
  • Instruct one or two fellow employees in the proper performance of duties.
