Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector/Material Handler at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Compensation and Schedule
  • Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour with a possible $2.00 increase after 90 days
  • Schedule:

    Second Shift Monday - Friday 12:00pm – 8:30pm
Responsibilities
  • Pallet inspection and processing using Palamatic operator machine.
  • Safely and securely inspect pallets to meet company and safety standards.
  • Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line, and lift pallets for inspection and separation using the Palamatic machine.
  • Ensure proper inspection and separation in quality control.
  • Conduct physical inventories as required.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist with warehouse security.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards and wear all required safety equipment while repairing pallets.
  • Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years or more experience in carpentry or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend basic math.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a diverse work environment.
  • Highly thorough and dependable.
  • Must be punctual with a good attendance record.
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Be a team player; create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Operate power equipment safely.
  • Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs; twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently.
  • Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
  • Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day).
