Pallet Inspector 1st Shift
Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector/Material Handler at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Warehouse, Manufacturing and Repair positions pay Weekly!
Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour with possibility of $2.00 merit increase after 90 days
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday from 6:00am to 2:30pm
Ryder Warehouse Associates work in clean, organized, and well-run facilities to provide the safest supply chain environment.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to comprehend basic math
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work within a diverse work environment
Highly thorough and dependable
Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
Performs work independently with minimal supervision
Possesses a high degree of initiative
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
Work independently and as a member of a team
Be a team player
Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
Operate power equipment in a safe manner
Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs
Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
Manually lift 70lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; in addition lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the palamatic machine
Ensure that proper inspection and separation is met
Conduct physical inventories as required
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
Performs other duties as assigned
