JOB SUMMARY

The Dishwasher/Janitorial role is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the entire kitchen, warehouse and office areas. This role is responsible for thoroughly and efficiently cleaning dishes, utensils, equipment, restrooms and warehouse/office spaces while adhering to strict food safety and cleanliness standards at all times. Other duties include taking out the trash, sweeping, performing general cleaning tasks, and assisting with food preparation as needed.

This position is critical to creating a safe and hygienic environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Kitchen Cleaning:
    Clean cooking areas, utensils, and equipment using appropriate cleaning chemicals. Wash and sort trays, utensils, and equipment parts as needed.
  • Equipment and Food Prep Handling:
    Safely operate food preparation equipment such as dish machines and knives.
  • Trash and Stocking:
    Empty trash cans and dispose of garbage properly. Perform light stocking tasks as required.
  • Janitorial:

    Sweep and mop floors regularly. Clean restrooms daily. Keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice during inclement weather, maintaining general cleanliness.
  • Order Management:
    Receive truck orders, verify inventory accuracy, and organize items systematically. Store delivery orders following proper food hierarchy standards.
  • Light Maintenance Duties:
    Perform minor cleaning tasks such as dusting and maintaining high surfaces, including office areas on a routine basis.
  • Food Safety and Preparation:
    Consistently practice safe food handling and maintain cleanliness. Assist with food preparation, adhering to company recipes and production levels.
WORK SCHEDULE

Flexibility is essential, including early morning, weekend and holiday hours.

SKILLS REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, and/or at least 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • Excellent communication abilities with a friendly and polite demeanor.
  • Solid understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a restaurant environment.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING REQUIRED
  • Successful completion of company training program.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting while managing and executing restaurant operations.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds, including tables, equipment, food and event supplies.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers is required for various tasks essential cleaning and maintenance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, essential for interacting with staff.
  • Sharp hearing acuity to communicate and respond effectively in loud environments with significant background noise, typical of restaurant and event settings.
  • Withstand exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils.
  • Withstand exposure to and work with cleaning chemicals.
