- Treat each customer with respect and kindness, ensuring each interaction delivers on the SP+ Promise of making every moment matter.
- Be on site every scheduled day, on time, in uniform, and ready to assist customers.
- Count the “bank” of revenue at the beginning of the shift to ensure the starting total is correct.
- Collect cash and/or validations and maintain the security of cash.
- Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customers for each transaction.
- Compute or re‑compute bills from tickets showing the amount due per customer.
- Operate the cash register after time calculation (manually or by machine), calculate transaction cost and display it to the customer.
- Quote prices for parking services for which money is received upon customer receipt.
- Give directions to city locations and assist customers so they reach their destinations easily and efficiently.
- Complete lost‑ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located.
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently, asking a supervisor for assistance when needed.
- Answer telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of the booth and pick up trash in the surrounding area.
- Conduct timely checks to verify that necessary work aids and supplies are located in the booth.
- Verify the log of shift transactions against the “bank” of revenue on hand.
- Compile the “bank” of collected revenue during the day once a predetermined amount has been reached.
- Record amounts received, cars in/out of the facility, cars left in the facility (if applicable) while preparing the shift report of transactions.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Education and/or
Experience:
Less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Availability to Work:
Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required, depending on a location’s hiring needs. - License Requirement:
You must have and maintain a valid state‑issued driver’s license, with a current address and acceptable driving record if required to drive a company vehicle or company business. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to make change. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors and other employees. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. - Other
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use a clock (standard/military time), calculator (optional) or credit card machine to handle transactions; ability to maintain a pleasant manner when speaking on the telephone and with the public; ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints. - Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to walk and sit; specific vision abilities required include close vision.
Salary Range: $17.68/hr
