District Wholesale Manager

The District Wholesale Manager will direct the sale of Avis Budget Group vehicles through all available channels within the assigned area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating and providing guidance to Operations & Supply Chain for proper placement of sale vehicles at auctions or other channels. Work with National Car Sales Team to maintain consistent pricing to attain desired Division P & L and Fleet goals.

Occasional travel required.

• Direct sales of vehicles through all available channels within assigned area.
• Coordinate and provide guidance to Ops Sales & Supply Chain to achieve "Right Car Right Place" for sale of vehicles at auctions and other channels.
• Attend auctions to sell cars, monitor market conditions and maintain reasonable inventory levels.
• Manage promotional sales events at various locations to optimize vehicle values.
• Coordinate with National Car Sales Team to adjust pricing when needed.
• Analyze and collect competitive sales and pricing data.
• Monitor and enforce pricing for off‑rent vehicles, damaged/wrecked vehicles, commercial truck inventory, retail trade‑in vehicles and other inventory that becomes eligible for sale.
• Maintain positive relationships with auctions and potential buyers in assigned area.
• Resolve buyer disputes/arbitrations.
• Track payments from all sales in region to ensure proper and timely proceeds receipt.
• Monitor inventory levels and hold selling locations accountable for all ABG inventory.
• Enforce and revise established vehicle sales policies as required.
• Negotiate sale, transport and repair fees with various vendors.

• College Degree Required.
• Experience in wholesale vehicle sales and familiarity with wholesale vehicle auction process strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with rental car or other fleet organizations preferred.
• Effective communication and creative issue resolution skills.
• Ability to successfully interact with vendors, customers and internal employees.
• Excellent computer skills with strong experience in Excel.
• Good Negotiation Skills.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
• Strong Self‑Motivator.
• Ability to organize and follow through on a wide variety of simultaneous tasks.
• Experience with AutoIMS preferred.

The annual starting salary for this position is between $75,000 - $80,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
