Sr. Technician

Completes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; mentors, trains, and assigns tasks to other personnel assigned to maintenance and repair activities.

• Complete basic maintenance assignments including preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing jams, shift inspections, cleaning, and electrical and mechanical adjustments.
• Monitor system operation, diagnose equipment failures, and ensure equipment is running safely.
• Provide direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel; conduct training and mentoring, assign tasks, and act as lead when senior personnel are absent.
• Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager instructions.
• Work in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
• Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures; complete all required training courses.
• Complete forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures.
• Perform additional duties or assignments as may be required by management.
• Assist with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing.
• Perform all safety training as assigned by the Company.
• Maintain compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum 3 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous work experience in an Airport environment
• Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings
• Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment
• HVAC, welding/brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills
• Minimum 3 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience
• 4+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background
• Minimum 2 years of experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls (troubleshooting and repair), and/or Industrial HVAC certification
• Advanced computer skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience mentoring, guiding and directing maintenance personnel

Basic computer knowledge; intermediate level in Microsoft Windows, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy
• Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy
