Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Overview
As an Automation Technician III, you will maintain an automated material handling system. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining continuous system operation by troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and performing preventive maintenance activities.
Responsibilities- Maintain all systems and subsystems of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System.
- Ensure rapid equipment return to serviceability by performing thorough in‑depth troubleshooting on any non‑functioning or faulted system, subsystem, or component.
- Keep management informed of specific problems and suggested actions, including approximate time required for repairs.
- Troubleshoot and replace fieldbus communication components on the material handling conveyor systems, including addressing components and running diagnostics.
- Remove and replace mechanical parts of the conveyor such as repairing broken chain, belting, rollers, drive motors, realigning or replacing control system sensors (photo‑eyes), proximity sensors, etc.
- Remove and replace, reload software parameters for PLC product lines and other like components, such as industrial PCs or server‑based controls.
- Diagnose and replace electronic sensors as required, including reprogramming and alignment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and adjustments on multi‑axis robotic arms and end‑of‑arm tools.
- Be proficient with conveyor maintenance, including preventive maintenance (PM) actions on automated conveyor equipment as directed.
- Document repairs, PMs, parts usage, and time by completing work orders in a computerized maintenance management system (Maximo).
- Responsible for cleanup of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed.
- Assist and train other automation team technicians in troubleshooting and repairs of any equipment as required, consistent with level of experience and training.
Warehouse:
Grocery warehouse (temperature 50°F–90°F). Physical duties include site inspections, equipment inspections, mechanical repairs and replacements, good mobility, physical exertion, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and carrying tools and parts.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical studies, or 5+ years equivalent experience in an electro‑mechanical field.
- 5–7 years of experience with 480V, 277V, and 120V electrical systems (single and three phase).
- Advanced working knowledge of Allen‑Bradley PLCs and network diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical or electronic schematics, mechanical diagrams, illustrated parts breakdowns, complex automated system drawings, and component specification sheets.
- Experience with MS Office programs:
Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Experience welding with stick or MIG (a plus).

Schedule:
Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00PM – 8:30AM. Compensation: $29–$36 per hour, with additional pay for night and weekend shifts. Medical, dental, and vision insurance available from day one.
