Location & CompensationLocation:
Bradley International Airport (BDL). Salary: $100,000 – $120,000.
Reports to:
Regional VP.
The Account Manager will be responsible for assisting the operational team to deliver excellent and safer performance in the cargo service functions at a high‑volume international airport, including managing the company’s relationship with the assigned airline customer and acting as the liaison between the two. Lead problem avoidance and resolution initiatives.
Primary Accountabilities and Duties- Implement Menzies Aviation Policies and Procedures as laid down in the Eight Pillars of Management
- Ensure service delivery to customer airlines is according to the airline contracts and within the agreed budget level
- Ensure safety and security procedures are performed according to the Menzies Health and Safety regulations and international aviation standards
- Monitor performance and take action to correct any shortfalls
- Liaise with airline station managers, airport operations staff, handling agents, customs, immigration and security officials and other airport stakeholders
- Provide reports as required and service delivery measurements
- Provide leadership to the management team and develop their skills
- Interview, train, plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; recognize employees and address issues while ensuring employees complete company training programs
- Work shifts as required by the business
- Report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
- Suggest improvements to working practices, especially those relating to safety and security
- Must follow all security procedures as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Manage employees in the Ground Handling department
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- HSD or GED
- Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Airport Ground Handling experience at a high‑volume international airport
- Financial management skills awareness
- Effective communication with senior level personnel
- Ability to work with a multinational workforce and adjust to local station conditions
- Working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement
- Aptitude to develop the supervisory team, provide succession planning and re‑engineer business processes as demanded by business changes
- Ability to support other stations and cover own responsibilities when on leave
- Excellent knowledge of ramp, cargo, and GSE
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated customer relationship skills and effective communication from field to corporate executives
- Strong finance and accounting experience and background
- Solid problem‑solving, multi‑tasking abilities and experience in handling flight operations
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Valid state driver’s license and other FAA/airport required identifications and seals
- Must pass pre‑employment physical and a drug test
