2 days ago Requisition

Salary Range: $20.09 To $20.09 Annually

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Lead Airline Ramp Agent is the backbone of the shift. In this working leadership role, you will direct, train, and motivate a team of ramp agents while actively participating in ground operations for commercial and charter aircraft. You set the standard for how the ramp operates — leading by example with integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to safety and customer service.

This is the right next step for an experienced ramp professional who is ready to take ownership of a shift, develop the people around them, and make a measurable difference in the performance of the operation. If you lead with respect, stay composed under pressure, and take pride in doing things the right way — this role was built for you.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations & Team Direction:

Plan, organize, direct, and actively participate in Ramp Services operations for both scheduled commercial flights and charter aircraft, including baggage transfers, aircraft de-icing, aircraft cleaning, lavatory services, and ground power unit hookups.

Direct and train assigned Ramp Services Agents, including new hire onboarding, ongoing in-service training, monthly compliance training, and annual safety training. Maintain accurate training records.

Implement departmental policies and procedures as directed; advise the Ramp Services Supervisor on policy issues and develop more efficient methods of operation as needed.

Coordinate Ramp Services activities with air carrier personnel, station management, and TSA representatives as required for the assigned shift.

Operate and provide training on all ground service equipment including aircraft loading bridges, baggage tugs and carts, belt loaders, electric carts, lavatory carts, portable water carts, air start units, tow bars, and portable stairs. Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe and operational condition.

Maintain emergency checklists and ensure emergency supplies are stocked and accessible at all times.

Compliance & Communication:

Ensure compliance with FAA and TSA security regulations, airline corporate rules, directives, and operational procedures. Implement necessary changes as directed and attend all required meetings.

Prepare and submit verbal and written reports on ground service activities and ramp agent performance as required.

Update the Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) as required.

Coordinate communications between the airport, airline dispatch personnel, and flight crews regarding passenger manifests, weight and balance, fueling requirements, on/off times, uplift, flight release, and weather packages.

Handle business-related administrative duties including billing, payment data corrections, cash handling, supply ordering, and similar functions.

Complete all required training.

Only complete tasks for which you are fully trained.

Report any safety hazard or incident immediately to the Ramp Services Supervisor.

Other duties as assigned by station leadership.
