Warehouse Porter​/Custodian - 2nd Shift

Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors and communities  Porters work as a part of a team to reserve a clean and tidy environment throughout our facilities  These critical roles help to support our prideful work environment and the delivery of high quality product to our customers

+ 6:30 PM   5:00 AM

+ Days TBD

+ Location   500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096

** You will contribute by:*
* + Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor

+ Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms

+ Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors

+ Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product

+ Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc

+ Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly

+ Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

+ Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels

+ Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

** What's a great way to stay in shape?*
* + Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift

+ Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc

+ Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1   60 lbs  or more

+ Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead

+ Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height

+ Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
