Position SummaryWe are seeking a Stock handler Helper who will use hand trucks, carts, forklifts and various other material handling equipment. In addition, the helper must have a willingness to climb ladders and work at various heights and the ability to stand or walk during the entire duration of the shift. The helper will use a PC to send and receive email, and will also utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The ability to effectively utilize handheld scanning technology and to gain knowledge of inventory management system for processing stores transactions is also required.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid, clean motor vehicle operator’s license
- Ability to obtain a CDL B within 6 months of start date
- Ability to use hand trucks, carts and other material handling equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to physically lift and move material up to 70 pounds at times (and 50 pounds on a frequent basis)
- Good computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft products
- Math skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to successfully complete the Eversource Time Merit Progression
- Prior related Stock handling experience is a plus.
This position is part of a four-year job progression:
Starting pay rate starts at Step 1 $ 31.70 and progressing in accordance with the union contract. Comprehensive benefits package (refer to company career site for details).
The selected candidate must be available for emergency response duties as required and work in accordance with Eversource safety policies and procedures. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment, which may require assistance during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
