Site Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager/ Foreman
Dean Construction is one of the leading marine contractors in Canada. We're in our 100th year of operation, actively diversifying our areas of business and growing our team. Dean's scopes of work range from the construction of nuclear, municipal and green‑energy water systems, to port construction, to navigational and environmental dredging. We're currently involved in two federally designated nation‑building projects. Dean is a unionized company.
Candidates from the Operating Engineers, Carpenters and Labourers, as well as others, will be considered.
Travel and extended stays on job sites is required. Dean regularly executes a 24/7 work schedule. Current projects are located between Hamilton, Darlington/Oshawa and Lake Simcoe. This position is full‑time and on‑site. Pay is commensurate with Dean's union obligations or competitive, based on experience. Accommodation and live‑out allowances are supplied. Annual bonuses, based on company performance, are issued.

Position SummarySite Superintendents are responsible for the on‑site, day‑to‑day operations of specific jobsites. They work with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of their project by providing communications, updates, insights, pre‑planning, logistics and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure project progress meets or accelerates schedule.
- Ensure jobsite compliance with contract specifications.
- Site documentation.
- Communications with Owners and engineers.
- Lead by example.
- Serve as a mentor to crew members by providing guidance on safety, quality standards, and efficient work practices.
- Strong communication, leadership and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ensure jobsite is compliant with company COR and ISO 9001 obligations.
- Delivery and documentation of safety/toolbox talks.
- Site inspections.
- Ensure generation and submission of equipment logs.
- Assist in the generation of monthly payment applications.
- Collect site information justifying Change Orders.
- Ensure crew members know their daily duties on the project and how those duties relate to the success/completion of the project.
- Enhance site morale.
- Initiate corrective actions with personnel as required.
- 3–5 years in a similar role – marine construction preferred.
- Proficient in verbal and written English.
- CET or CM diploma is an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
- MS Word, Excel and Google Drive competency.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Solid planning skills.
- Develop or approve of shift production reports.
- Submit project updates.
- Weekly crew timesheet submission.
- Safety documentation.
- QA/QC documentation.
- Assist PM with establishing crewing requirements.
- Attend site meetings.
