Job Title:
Wire Harness Engineer
Location:
Onsite in Windsor, ON with US Travel required
Duration: 12 months
Pay rate range: $40.00 - $46.00 CAD on T4
Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Support wiring harness design activities in collaboration with designers.
- Investigate and resolve harness‑related issues found during vehicle assembly and production.
- Coordinate design updates and engineering changes with design teams.
- Work closely with assembly plant operations to support production issues.
- Review harness routing, packaging, and system integration concerns.
- Minimum 3 years of Wire Harness Design & Release experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Strong understanding of harness routing throughout the vehicle, harness components (connectors, terminals, splices, circuits, protective coverings), electrical systems and circuit connectivity within vehicles, potential interference issues with moving parts and surrounding components.
- Experience with Teamcenter NX (other CAD tools such as CATIA or Solid Works are acceptable and can be learned).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, DFMEA, DVP&R, Design for Six Sigma methodologies.
- Robust teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of high‑voltage electrical systems, awareness of HV safety protocols and handling requirements.
- Eligibility to travel to the United States (approximately once per week, including Auburn Hills, MI and other regional facilities).
- Capability to use own vehicle and manage mileage, tolls, and travel‑related expenses.
- Automotive experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Aerospace Wiring Harness backgrounds (e.g., Boeing) will be considered.
100% Onsite Role:
Primary support at Windsor Assembly Plant; workspace access at Windsor Assembly Plant ARDC (Automotive Research & Development Centre).
Candidate must be eligible to travel to the United States. Expected travel to Auburn Hills, MI and other regional facilities as needed, approximately once per week when required.
Vehicle & Driving RequirementsNo company vehicle provided. Candidate will use their own vehicle. Mileage, tolls, and travel‑related expenses will be reimbursed through expense reports.
