About the RoleThe Controller is the business partner responsible for developing and implementing product line objectives and strategies and ensuring effective control in the financial management reporting systems. This role primarily supports the cement product line by providing Product Line Finance Directors and Operating Managers with financial management information, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support.
What You’ll Accomplish- Provide financial support to senior management, review and analyze financial results, and identify areas for improvement.
- Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective and provide recommendations.
- Assist with all financial planning activities related to monthly forecast and Mid‑Term plan (MTP).
- Perform financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
- Provide financial guidance and support to operational teams.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile asset and liability accounts.
- Work closely with the business to prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Manage accounting and reporting functions at market‑area level, including management reports and presentations.
- Maintain financial and accounting controls and oversee adherence to company policies.
- Oversee and manage inventory and fixed assets through balances review and reconciliation.
- Promote a culture of safety by communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Education:
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. - Work experience:
at least 5 years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles. - Professional accounting designation required (CMA, CGA, CPA, or CA).
- Technical skills: proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and SAP.
- Travel: ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence with and without authority.
