CERTIFIED MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Pay: $45.23/hr plus shift premium
Job SummaryA Maintenance Technician is responsible for working in a fast‑paced environment to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes that support the achievement of Avancez’s business goals and objectives. This Technician will work a straight midnight shift and must hold a Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification recognized or issued by Skilled Trades Ontario (STO).
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Hydraulics/Pneumatic controls
- Preventative maintenance
- Shift start up and shutdown
- Work with minimal supervision
- Ensure all machinery is functional for production
- Analyze and measure machinery performance
- Continual improvement activities
- Troubleshoot equipment problems/issues
- Analyze machine performance and recommend improvement processes
- Respond to maintenance calls to the line
- Repair broken/defective equipment
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Parts inventory
- Report any continuous improvement
- Document process improvements
- Track any production downtime
- Work overtime as required
- All other duties as assigned
- MUST have Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification recognized or issued by Skilled Trades Ontario (STO)
- Technical certification preferred in electrical, robotics, mechanical and/or fabrication
- 2+ years working in a JIT manufacturing environment
- Travel Required:

- Robotics, mechanical, welding, electrical knowledge
- Ability to read and understand PLC, blueprints, and schematics
- Forklift/Aerial Certification
- Mechanical skills
- Ability to work from heights
- Mechanical safety requirements
- Safety certification preferred
- Solid mechanical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Basic understanding of building maintenance
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Acts as an independent leader and can transition to a team player when needed
