GROCERY CLERK 4 - STOCKER — Olivers Market, Windsor, CA

As a Grocery Clerk 4, you focus on assisting in the daily operations of the Grocery department while providing excellent customer service.

• Provide excellent customer service, address the needs of customers, and answer their questions in a timely and effective manner.
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of grocery products and aisle locations (e.g., conventional, organic, perishable, etc.).
• Assist with maintaining the inventory floor (merchandising, facing products, pulling inventory, rotating perishable items, etc.).
• Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of back stock of grocery items.
• Aid with the breakdown and inspection of delivery/vendor orders.
• Accurately follow proper rotation practices when organizing and storing received deliveries.
• Assist with maintaining product displays on the sales floor, including accurate signage.
• Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations to supervisors.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

• 18+ years old.
• Retail or grocery experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow directions and established procedures with attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication style, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic math skills.
• Conversational English skills required when working with customers.
• Bilingual proficiency preferred.

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

• Works with and around flour/grains, dairy, fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other food allergens.
• Frequently lifts/carries 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Constant standing/walking during a workday.
• Moves include standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and reaching; bending and twisting at waist and neck; reaching above and below the shoulders.
• Hand use: grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures from work in and around freezers, coolers, refrigerators, ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment, inside and outside the store in all weather conditions.
• Frequent-to-constant work in wet and dry conditions.
• May require use of ladders or step stools.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and related fumes.
• Work with and around tools and equipment, including knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, baler, etc.
• Intermittent noise from equipment and machinery.
• Wear non-slip, water and oil resistant closed-toe shoes.
