Logistics Manager (Windsor / Essex area) – Food / Agriculture
The Company: A well‑established food distribution & packaging organization is seeking a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee end‑to‑end multi‑site warehouse and distribution centres for their North American Operation. This role is responsible for inventory control, internal material flow, and value‑added repack operations, ensuring seamless movement of materials and finished goods while meeting service, cost, and compliance targets.
The OpportunityManage the on‑site and off‑site warehouse and distribution centres, ensuring efficient flow of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods between warehousing and production. This individual will play a critical role in driving operational performance, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
KeyJob Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day warehouse and distribution centre operations
- Ensure inventory accuracy across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Oversee material flow to support production schedules (staging, timing, availability)
- Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and material handling efficiency
- Lead cycle counts, reconciliation, and root‑cause analysis
- Ensure throughput meets production and customer demand
- Maintain quality standards and optimize labour deployment
- Identify and implement process improvements (labour efficiency, flow, automation)
- Manage carrier relationships, routing, and freight performance
- Control freight costs and oversee claims management
- Support import/export and customs processes
- Coordinate cross‑border logistics and support U. S. operations as needed
- Track and report on KPIs including inventory accuracy, on‑time material availability, warehouse throughput, labour efficiency, freight cost, and service performance
- Lead problem‑solving initiatives related to inventory, service, and flow disruptions
- Drive continuous improvement across warehouse and logistics
- 7+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations
- Proven leadership experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Solid background in inventory management systems and controls
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and lead teams
