Under the direction of the Program Managers, the Unit Clerk – Hip and Knee RAC Program provides efficient clerical services within the Program including all units and clinics.
The Unit Clerk – Hip and Knee RAC Program is always the first point of contact and will provide a warm welcome to all patients and families coming to the Department. The clerk will provide efficient clerical support to the outpatient clinics, including scheduling of all Physiotherapist/physician/treatment/nurse appointments, ordering lab, diagnostic testing, triaging patient phone calls, coordinating physician phone calls, support in the organization of patient care outside of the Program (including arranging community referrals and/or home care).
The Unit Clerk will support of data inputting and tracking for program reporting requirements. The Unit Clerk – Hip and Knee RAC Program complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Exemplary interpersonal & written/verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and information/data management skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently, coordinating and prioritizing multiple assignments
Excellent judgment and decision making skills
Maintain and foster confidentiality in all aspects of written and verbal communication
General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Demonstrates ability to work independently and as an effective team member
EDUCATION/TRAINING
EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12 Education - required;
Minimum of one year related experience in a health care environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel (will be tested)
Medical terminology - required (will be tested)
