Make a significant impact as a Senior Buyer for the City of Windsor. This full-time position is centered on strategic procurement and vendor management.
As a Senior Buyer, you will oversee the purchasing of goods and services, ensuring compliance with procurement by-laws. The successful candidate will prepare specifications, issue requests for proposals, and conduct vendor negotiations, enhancing operational efficiency within the city.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct purchasing of goods in compliance with by-law
• Maintain and create procurement specifications documents
• Issue and evaluate tender requests and contracts
• Negotiate with suppliers and manage vendor relations
• Administer the contract management and performance system
Requirements:
• Secondary School Diploma with relevant post-secondary education
• Active pursuit of a purchasing designation is preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a must
• Strong relationship-building skills
