Corporate Controller

Salary Range: $ To $ Annually
Full-time, permanent position for a Corporate Controller in the Accounting Department at our Leamington office.
What You'll Do:- Assist with credit applications
- Monitoring all bank accounts on a daily basis to report cash position to the VP of Finance
- Review monthly bank reconciliations, relying heavily on Payroll, Accounts Payable and Purchasing
- Maintain oversight of financial transactions and account activity
- Provide banks with consolidated financials of the previous month on a monthly basis
- Communicate with banks, clarify transactions and answer queries
- Ensure all postings are verified and posted to correct accounts
- Lead the month-end close process, preparing reconciliations and ensuring revenue/expenses are posted correctly
- Handle confidential financial matters with government bodies (e.g., ROEs, BDO)
- Manage foreign exchange transactions in Canadian dollars
- Cooperate with audits (Payroll, WSIB, HST, Compliance)
- Review payroll entries posted by the financial analyst
- Prepare and submit year-end government reports
- Own and troubleshoot accounting software issues
- Drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability across finance operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support business operations through accurate reporting
- Process wire payments, bill payments, transfers and other cash transactions via online banking
- Verify all withdrawals from accounts such as interest, payments
- Ensure retention of records
- Ensure staff are onboarded on new programs and used correctly
- Interview for front-end staff openings
- Advocate for new positions when necessary
- Lead employee training and follow-up to maintain efficiency and accuracy; ongoing training may be required
- Provide strong leadership to the accounting and finance team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, building capability and succession
- Set clear expectations, give regular feedback, and lead performance management processes
- Drive employee engagement and effective communication within the team and across departments
- Demonstrate sound judgment and professionalism in managing complex or sensitive situations
- Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security and company policies
- Fulfill all physical job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
- Additional activities may be required beyond those listed
- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of typical accounting functions (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll)
- Proven people leadership experience building and leading high-performing teams
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
- Strong reading, writing, oral communication and listening skills
- Effective coaching, mentorship and influence abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to continuous learning through courses and personal research
- Capability to make informed, effective and timely decisions
- Flexibility to adapt to changing information and conditions
- Credible, reliable and ethical character
- Office-based role, typically 40-50 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, but Saturday’s optional or as needed
