Financial Analyst

Join Our Team as a Financial Analyst!
Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team at our corporate headquarters. This position plays a key role in maintaining accounting records for the Valiant TMS North American group of companies, with a focus on budgets and capital assets, while also developing and delivering insightful financial reporting. Working closely with the senior accounting team and department managers, this role supports informed decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Get To Do

Operating Expense budgets and variance reporting – Taking a key role in the annual operating expense budget process and reporting on monthly variances using the integrated financial platform.

Preparing quarterly executive budget variance reviews – Prepare company level reporting package for each department summarizing their quarterly variances to budget in each of costs, hours charged and head count levels.

Preparing monthly utilization reports – Prepare monthly reports that show the level of hours posted to projects, identifying discrepancies and variances to the budget.

Capital Assets and Reporting – Coordinate and review capital asset acquisitions and disposals, prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, track capital spending against budgets, and post related journal entries.

Other Financial Reporting – Prepare ad hoc internal reports, including reports on in house jobs, borrowed employees and capital asset purchases as required by the senior accounting team.

What We Are Looking For

Experience:

5 years of experience in a similar financial or accounting role.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and collaborate across all levels and departments.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.

Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Travel to the USA may occasionally be required.

The expected annual compensation for this position is $60,000-$70,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Valiant TMS does not require Canadian work experience and does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to screen or assess applicants.
