What awaits you:
  • Support daily Human Resources operations and administration for the facility.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for supervisors and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, attendance, employee relations, and collective agreement administration.
  • Assist with labor relations activities, including grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, and meeting preparation.
  • Conduct workplace investigations relating to attendance concerns, policy violations, respectful workplace complaints, and other employee relations matters.
  • Support attendance management, progressive discipline, and employee performance discussions.
  • Administer Sick & Accident (S&A), Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) programs, including employee communication and coordination with benefit providers.
  • Coordinate return-to-work and modified work programs, including accommodations and medical restrictions.
  • Administer training and development programs, including apprenticeship programs and skills development initiatives.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and support employee communication programs.
  • Manage temporary labor requirements, including agency staffing, onboarding, and workforce tracking.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Studies, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment.
  • Exposure to labor relations, grievance handling, employee investigations, collective agreements, or employee relations is preferred.

    Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and labor relations principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and disability management processes is an asset.
