Executive Director – Senior Living

Cogir Senior Living seeks an experienced Executive Director to oversee general management of a retirement residence, delivering a superior "More Living" experience to residents.

• Lead a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
• Recruit, train and mentor staff to ensure exceptional service and resident care.
• Efficiently manage all department operations, ensuring smooth functioning, strict compliance with collective agreements, and optimized fiscal resource allocation.
• Implement and maintain policies to uphold industry standards and regulations while achieving financial targets with maximum operational efficiency.
• Drive sales and occupancy, guiding the team to exceed occupancy targets and promote the residence as the top choice in the local market through a multi‑pronged approach.
• Set and monitor financial targets, including employee engagement, resident satisfaction, audits, occupancy rates and net operating profit, and develop strategies to surpass them.
• Build strong relationships with employees, residents and their families, fostering open communication and continuous improvement based on stakeholder feedback.
• Maintain professional relationships with regional teams, external vendors and regulatory bodies to reflect the organization’s professionalism and integrity.

• Minimum five (5) years of management experience in senior living, hotel or hospitality, preferably in a unionised environment.
• Proficient in recruiting, training, mentoring and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
• Strong business planning, marketing, sales and financial goal‑setting skills.
• Financial acumen and budget management expertise.
• Proven track record of achieving operational goals and improving efficiency.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑starter with the ability to facilitate change and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) within the last six months or willingness to obtain one.

• Salary range: $95,000 – $100,000 (plus short‑term incentive plan and potential annual merit increases).
