Education:
No degree certificate or diploma. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience:
3 years to less than 5, 3 years of relevant kitchen experience or 1 year of sous chef experience.
- Prepare menu items consistently and to recipe standards while working alongside the kitchen team during service.
- Organize tickets, prioritize orders, and keep dishes moving so food goes out accurately and on time.
- Supervise kitchen staff when needed and step in to support stations during busy rushes.
- Check plates for quality, portioning, and presentation before they leave the kitchen.
- Help correct mistakes quickly, remake orders when required, and maintain smooth kitchen flow.
- Monitor food prep, stock rotation, and kitchen supplies to help reduce waste and prevent shortages.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
- Communicate clearly with servers and management to keep service coordinated and guest satisfaction high.
- Other duties as required to help out where short and transfer skills to team members.
- 3 years of relevant kitchen experience or 1 year of sous chef experience.
- Strong knife skills and working knowledge of grill, fry, sauté, and line operations.
- Ability to lead by example, stay calm under pressure, and support teammates during rush periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality plate execution.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; valid food handler certification is an asset.
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle the physical demands of kitchen work.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
