Salary: $40,000 – $50,000 + applicable incentives/benefits

Position Overview

Pelee Island Winery is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to manage and grow our presence throughout the North Toronto to Barrie territory.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional, beverage industry enthusiast, or recent graduate looking to build a career in the beverage alcohol industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with LCBO locations, grocery retailers, restaurants, hospitality partners, and other key accounts while increasing brand awareness and sales growth.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, a passion for relationship building, and the ability to work independently in a territory-based role.

Candidates with previous sales experience in wine, spirits, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, hospitality, or retail are encouraged to apply. We are also open to candidates who demonstrate strong potential, industry interest, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with accounts across North Toronto, Vaughan, Newmarket, Aurora, Barrie, and surrounding areas.
  • Regularly visit LCBO stores, grocery retailers, restaurants, hospitality venues, and licensee accounts to drive sales and brand visibility.
  • Execute tastings, product education sessions, staff training, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Pelee Island Winery’s market presence.
  • Build strong partnerships with customers and provide exceptional account support.
  • Represent Pelee Island Winery at consumer events, trade shows, tastings, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor territory performance, identify sales opportunities, and provide regular updates and market feedback to the Sales Manager.
  • Support promotional programs and initiatives to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and territory development plans.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in outside sales, account management, retail, hospitality, food and beverage, or consumer packaged goods is preferred. ( Wine and liquor industry)
  • Recent graduates from wine, beverage, or sales-related programs who have a strong interest in sales and the beverage alcohol industry are encouraged to apply.
  • Completion of beverage industry education or certifications (such as wine, spirits, or beverage alcohol programs) is considered an asset.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing a territory.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to identify opportunities and achieve sales goals.
  • Strong interest in learning about wine, beverage alcohol, and the Ontario marketplace.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
  • Smart Serve certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg and assist with product setup for tastings and events.
  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory is required.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a territory-based schedule.
