Position Summary:

The responsibilities of the Salesperson are centered on the process of understanding and meeting customer needs. In order to sell, this person must have a basic knowledge of automotive systems and a thorough knowledge of prices, models, series, options, and other variations of the manufacturer’s product, and should also know much about the competition’s products and prices. But most of all this person should have sensitivity toward the customer and a strong interest in exceeding the customer’s expectations.

This person must have polished communication skills with customers, including the ability to present the company’s products and the ability to discover, by questioning, exactly what the customer’s needs are.

The Salesperson is a resourceful negotiator, capable of addressing customer hesitation and resistance. Throughout the selling process, the Salesperson presents a positive image of the dealership, both in mode of dress and helpful and friendly attitude. The Salesperson, in conjunction with the Sales Manager, determines personal sales goals and the methods by which those goals will be met.

Objectives:
Treat every customer as a potential lifetime purchaser, communicating a professional image that embraces honesty and concern for customer wants and needs.

Sell cars to make dealership profit, increase volume and maintain customer satisfaction.

Relate objectives and planned activities to your manager.

Deliver cars to customers. Ensure the customer understands the operating features, warranty conditions and all related documents to establish customer loyalty.

Maintain an owner follow-up and prospect development system to encourage repeat, referral and new business.

Acquaint customers with our Service Department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of the dealership’s operations.

Recognize that business is built on customer satisfaction and apply one self to ensuring customer satisfaction.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of sales procedures, processes, and follow-up.

Ability to meet and greet customers.

Ability to effectively relate to customers of all backgrounds and focus on customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of Company products (prices, models, series, options, warranties, colours, standard equipment, specifications)

Ability to prospect and ask for referrals.

Ability to counsel a customer (likes, dislikes, finances, needs).

The ideal sales candidate will possess great communication and leadership skills, is driven for success and has a passion for quality automobiles. You will learn multiple aspects of sales and operations, while having the opportunity to represent some of Canada’s favourite automotive brands!
