Service Manager
Job Summary
The Service Technician, under the direction of the Service Manager, will primarily be responsible for conducting diagnostic procedures to determine vehicle maintenance requirements and providing accurate repairs for our customers vehicles.
Job Duties
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repair
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order including diagnostic trouble codes and cause and correction.
Road tests vehicles when required and references job aid forms to qualify complaint
Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins
Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
Completing quality technician videos and pictures in Xtime or equivalent platform
Maintaining min efficiency of 120% as per (NADA) National Automotive Dealer Association
Reviewing manufacturer’s recall bulletins and ensuring that all steps are followed as per the guidelines set forth by the manufacturer
Ensure that you are achieving all Xtime KPI’s as directed by the management team
Accurate clocking in and out of all jobs
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean
Notify service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
Keeps shop area neat and clean as well as tech benches and workspace
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned special tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
Reports any safety issues immediately to management
Complete all manufacturer training within the set time lines.
Complete all training assigned by head office
Other tasks as assigned
Additional training as needed

Work in a safe manner at all times
Job Requirements
Licensed Service Technician in the province of Ontario
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift heavy items and to stand for long periods of time
