The Maintenance Technician III (HVAC) will perform routine operational and maintenance tasks to ensure efficient and safe facility operation.
Responsibilities
Work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing environment.
Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and overhaul environmental control equipment such as condenser units, pumps, air handlers, heat exchangers, dehumidifiers and other mechanical equipment.
Monitor and maintain equipment to control areas within specifications (35%, 10% and 1% relative humidity zones).
Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for environmental control systems.
Identify parts and material for repairs and maintain refrigerant stock.
Assist in training apprentices.
Review new equipment specifications, support commissioning checks and risk assessments.
Create incident reports with deep‑dive problem solving and root‑cause investigation.
Demonstrate problem‑solving methodology and help reduce utility costs.
Follow work procedures and comply with safety standards.
Conduct all activities and interactions in a professional manner.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC experience.
313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic certification.
Valid G Driver's License with a clean abstract.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Willing to work plant shutdowns, weekends and holidays as needed.
Willing to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
Preferred Requirements
ODP certification.
Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
Strong understanding of HVAC safety practices and regulations.
Knowledge and experience with sorption dehumidifiers (desiccant wheel) units.
Self‑motivated with initiative and judgment to make decisions and communicate them to a departmental supervisor for approval.
Strong computer skills, including Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
