This role is located in Windsor, Ontario, and requires the electrician to maintain all electrical systems on the Windsor site. The position is 100% on‑site and works 12‑hour rotating continental shifts (days and nights).
Responsibilities
Layout, assemble, install, repair, maintain, connect, and test fixtures, HVAC system, apparatus, control equipment, and wiring for electrical and electronic systems.
Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns for electrical controls, motor controls, heating and cooling controls, and plant lighting.
Perform bench repairs for electrical devices such as heaters, probes, motors, etc.
Set up equipment and electrical installations (plant wiring, control panels) from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
Assist mechanics in repairing pumps, fans, mixers, etc., and assemble or disassemble equipment when required.
May work extended hours (overtime) when problems occur or deadlines must be met.
Utilize PLC knowledge and understand controls from various providers.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED/CAEC, or equivalent credential assessment (ECA) required.
Licensed Industrial Electrician certification (309A, 442A) required.
Preferred: 1+ year experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or GMP facility.
Strong mathematical skills for simple calculations and a solid technical/electrical background.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of automation systems is an asset.
Physical ability to sit, use hands and fingers, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with clear vision and potential exposure to chemicals.
Eligible for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) on a limited basis.
Non‑Canadian credentials must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency by ACESC (e.g., WES).
Pay & Benefits
Start hourly rate: $42.50/hr the position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and a registered pension (RPP) with employer contributions. Additional employee reward and recognition programs and tuition reimbursement are available.
