What you'll do Assist technicians in the repair and maintenance of vehicles, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Perform routine cleaning and organization of the workshop and service areas to maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
Handle and transport automotive parts and equipment, ensuring they are stored correctly and easily accessible for technicians.
Support the inventory management process by tracking parts usage and assisting in restocking supplies as needed.
Participate in the setup and teardown of workstations for various projects and service tasks.
Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under the supervision of experienced technicians.
Assist in conducting quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with company standards and customer satisfaction.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Communicate effectively with team members and management to report any issues or concerns that may arise during daily operations.
Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the automotive field.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative team culture that fosters respect and support among colleagues.
Be adaptable to changing priorities and tasks as needed to meet the demands of the service department.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in a general labor or automotive environment is an asset but not mandatory.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and management.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills related to automotive service.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the service department.
A positive attitude and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
Nice to have
Experience with automotive parts and tools is a plus.
Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a workshop environment.
Previous customer service experience can be beneficial for interacting with clients.
Certification in WHMIS or other safety training is an advantage.
Skills & tools Proficiency in using basic hand tools and power tools commonly used in automotive service.
Strong organizational skills to manage tasks effectively and maintain a clean workspace.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while also being self-motivated to complete individual tasks.
Basic computer skills for inventory management and communication purposes.
Practical notes This position is located in Tecumseh, Ontario, and may require occasional travel to other locations for training or special projects.
The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and may require assistance with visa sponsorship if applicable.
