Job Title
- Heavy Equipment Operator
Pay Rate: 27-35/hour

Location:

Windsor, ON

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, skid steers and dozers.

· Excavate foundations and basements for residential and commercial construction.

· Prepare sites for parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, asphalt and concrete works.

· Perform rough and fine grading using laser levels and grade stakes.

· Install culverts, catch basins, manholes

· Read and interpret construction drawings, grades.

· Work safely around existing underground and overhead utilities.

· Conduct regular equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues.

· Follow project schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

· Work closely with supervisors, labourers, truck drivers, and subcontractors to complete projects efficiently.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Comply with all company policies, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

· Lead a crew to complete civil construction projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

· Direct crew members during excavation, grading, underground utility installation, and site preparation activities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 5years of experience
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the procedures used to control heavy equipment
• Possessing enough strength to operate the controls on heavy equipment
• Ability to remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periods
• Skills to diagnose issues with equipment
• Good oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsite
• Basic writing skills to complete reports and other paperwork
• Driving licence
