General Labour​/Automotive Apprentice – Ford

Reports To Service Manager

The General Labour / Automotive Apprentice, under the direction of the Service Manager, will assist licensed technicians with vehicle maintenance, maintain shop cleanliness, perform basic service tasks, and work toward completing automotive apprenticeship requirements at Performance Ford (also serving Lincoln vehicles). This is a union position starting at $19.50/hr.

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance and preparation tasks as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Assists licensed technicians with diagnostic procedures and complex repairs.
• Communicates with the parts department to retrieve required parts and supplies.
• Saves and tags warranty parts as requested.
• Inspects assigned vehicles for overall safety and reports additional required maintenance to service advisors.
• Documents all work performed clearly on repair orders.
• Completes quality technician videos and photos using Xtime or designated dealership platforms.
• Accurately clocks in and out of assigned jobs.
• Ensures customer vehicles remain clean and are handled with care.
• Immediately notifies service advisors of any changes to vehicle condition.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including tech benches and common shop areas.
• Properly operates, returns, and maintains all dealership-owned special tools and equipment.
• Reports machinery defects, shop hazards, or safety concerns immediately to management.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, head office training, and ongoing apprenticeship coursework.
• Performs other shop maintenance and general labour duties as assigned.

• Starting Wage: $19.50 per hour

• Adhere to all dealership and union policies and procedures.
• Work safely at all times and follow proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy items, work with hand/power tools, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Enrolled in or eligible for an Automotive Service Technician (310S) Apprenticeship program (preferred)
