The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, HSE, and other departments to troubleshoot equipment issues, minimize downtime, and maintain equipment in good working condition.
The Maintenance Technician will perform hands‑on mechanical and technical work, support continuous improvement initiatives, assist with equipment installations and modifications, and help maintain effective preventative maintenance practices. The successful candidate will be a versatile, self‑directed problem solver with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of industrial equipment and systems.
What You Will Be DoingHere’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:
- Perform all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to organizational safety standards and procedures.
- Perform preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment, machinery, utilities, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other equipment‑related issues to identify root causes and restore equipment to safe operating condition.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruption to operations.
- Inspect machinery and equipment regularly to identify potential problems and recommend corrective actions before failures occur.
- Complete maintenance work orders, document repairs, record parts and materials used, and maintain accurate maintenance records in SAP.
- Utilize the Plant Maintenance module in SAP as required to review, update, and complete maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance activities.
- Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance procedures, work instructions, and equipment maintenance standards.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, modification, relocation, and start‑up of machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Work with internal teams, contractors, OEMs, and service providers on equipment repairs, maintenance activities, and technical projects.
- Assist with capital projects and equipment improvements by providing hands‑on technical support, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and commissioning assistance.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, technical documentation, and other information necessary to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs within the scope of training, experience, and applicable regulations, including working with motors, sensors, controls, and related equipment.
- Perform welding, fabrication, machining, and other basic shop work as required to maintain or modify equipment and facilities.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of commonly used maintenance parts, tools, and supplies and communicate replenishment needs to the appropriate personnel.
