Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for an oil and gas services organization in Windsor, Colorado. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong experience in payables, receivables, billing, and account balancing while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help keep accounting records current, assist with invoice and payment processing, and contribute to reliable financial reporting through careful transaction handling.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and enter transactions accurately into the accounting system.
• Manage outgoing payments by preparing check runs and ensuring disbursements are completed on schedule.
• Support customer invoicing activities, including creating bills, reviewing charges, and following up on payment status.
• Maintain accounts receivable records and assist with collections by monitoring outstanding balances and resolving discrepancies.
• Reconcile account activity by comparing ledgers, statements, and supporting documentation to identify and correct variances.
• Perform a range of general accounting tasks to help maintain complete and accurate financial records.
• Use Quick Books Online, Sage 50, and Microsoft Excel to organize data, track transactions, and prepare routine accounting reports.
