Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for an oil and gas services organization in Windsor, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong experience in payables, receivables, billing, and account balancing while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help keep accounting records current, assist with invoice and payment processing, and contribute to reliable financial reporting through careful transaction handling.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and enter transactions accurately into the accounting system.

- Manage outgoing payments by preparing check runs and ensuring disbursements are completed on schedule.

- Support customer invoicing activities, including creating bills, reviewing charges, and following up on payment status.

- Maintain accounts receivable records and assist with collections by monitoring outstanding balances and resolving discrepancies.

- Reconcile account activity by comparing ledgers, statements, and supporting documentation to identify and correct variances.

- Perform a range of general accounting tasks to help maintain complete and accurate financial records.

- Use Quick Books Online, Sage 50, and Microsoft Excel to organize data, track transactions, and prepare routine accounting reports. Requirements - 2+ years of experience in an accounting support or accounting specialist role.

- Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation.

- Experience entering invoices, coordinating check runs, and maintaining accurate transaction records.

- Proficiency with Quick Books Online and Sage 50 in a business accounting environment.

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for tracking, reviewing, and organizing financial information.

- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented setting.
