Overview
King Surveyors is currently looking for a Crew Chief. This position will work on a wide variety of projects including boundary surveying, control surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, ground support aerial surveys, ALTAs, easement/right of way surveys, and residential surveys.
Responsibilities- Perform boundary, control, construction staking, topographic, aerial, ALTA, easement/right of way, and residential surveys as assigned.
- Read construction plans and organize field notes; ensure data quality and accuracy for field surveys.
- Train and mentor entry level surveyors; assist with day-to-day field operations.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Minimum of 3 years total survey experience.
- Experience in controlling surveying instrument function and calculators.
- Proficient with robotic total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors;
Trimble preferred. - Ability to read construction plans and organize field notes; strong attention to detail.
- Good social, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to train and mentor entry level surveyors.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record; background check required.
- Salary range: $28 - $40 per hour, plus overtime pay.
- Health care:
King Surveyors pays at least 60% of the employee’s monthly premium. - Education / Professional Development:
Up to $5,000 reimbursed per calendar year for approved coursework. - PTO after 30 days; accrual rates based on years of employment.
- Paid holidays: 7 per year.
- 401k / 401k Roth:
Match up to 4%. - Flexible Benefit Account: $500 annually towards medical expenses not covered by insurance.
