Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in Windsor, CO, this full-time, onsite opportunity seeks a dedicated professional to lead student support services as a Director of Student Support within a school setting. This role involves driving the implementation and continuous improvement of a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework aligned with the schools goals, ensuring robust and compliant student support programming.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee the MTSS-A and MTSS-S teams through structured, data-driven weekly meetings.
- Manage the full HR cycle for student services staff, including interventionists and special education providers.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and ensure compliance with various student support plans such as IEPs, 504 Plans, READ Plans, Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs), English Language Plans (ELPs), Kindergarten School Readiness Plans, and other intervention plans.
- Co-facilitate the student assessment cycle in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Lead monthly Special Education team meetings and act as liaison to the authorizer, providing detailed reports on student support programming.
- Support MTSS budgeting, resource planning, and procurement activities.
- Coordinate or deliver professional development on evidence-based MTSS, intervention, and instructional practices.
- Facilitate risk assessments, crisis response, and violence prevention strategies when necessary.
- Promote family and community engagement by attending parent and IEP meetings or designating an IEP administrator.
- Current Colorado Special Education License or willingness to obtain/renew.
- A minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a school administrator or teacher leader.
- Strong knowledge of special education curriculum, programming, and Colorado/federal special education laws and regulations.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with behavioral disabilities and social/emotional needs.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification or willingness to obtain; preferred experience with risk assessments.
- Availability for required summer training and planning days.
- U.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required.
