Children's and Youth Ministries Director

Job Description Summary

The Director of Kids and Youth Ministry leads the spiritual formation of students from preschool through high school, overseeing Sunday Kids Church, middle/high school youth groups, and the Confirmation class, and fostering continuity and community relationships.

• Plan and oversee children’s lessons for Sundays.
• Teach regularly and oversee volunteers.
• Ensure lessons are age‑appropriate, biblical, and engaging for all ages.
• Organize special events (e.g., Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, fellowship events).

• Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
• Create a consistent Sunday teaching rotation/schedule.
• Provide encouragement, training, and resources.
• Maintain healthy communication with team members and volunteers.

• Implement and uphold child protection policies and Emergency Action Plans.
• Ensure proper check‑in/check‑out procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming classrooms.
• Conduct background checks as required.

• Communicate regularly with parents (email, text, newsletters, or church app).
• Provide resources to help families disciple their children at home.
• Be available to answer questions and offer support.

• Manage curriculum implementation.
• Manage ministry budget as approved by Council.
• Track attendance and maintain basic records.
• Coordinate use of classrooms and materials and supplies.

• Collaborate with Pastors, Church Council, and Trustees.
• Support overall church mission and vision.
• Help integrate children into broader church life.

• Preferred Education:
  
  Bachelor’s or graduate level degree in religious education, religious studies, youth ministry education or equivalent, or substantial experience with Christian education and/or youth programs and outreach.
• Colorado Driver’s License; CPR & First Aid certification.
• Employment contingent upon cleared background check.

• Be in agreement with Faith Church beliefs, mission and vision.
• Proficient knowledge of Scripture, theology, ministry leadership, and volunteer development.
• A desire to humbly serve God and our youth.

Reports to Church Trustees.

Hours:

part time; 20‑25 hours per week to start; office hours coordinated with church staff schedule; weekdays/evenings/weekends.

Wage commensurate with experience. $25‑35/hour.
