Design Librarian ; Adult Services

The Design Librarian I (Adult Services) plans, conducts, and evaluates high quality adult programming and library services on behalf of the Clearview Library District. This position reports directly to the Programming & Engagement Librarian III, and works very closely with Windsor and Severance librarians and program specialists. The position also participates in the Most Responsible Person (MRP) rotation, including regular evening and weekend coverage.

Essential Functions:

• Develops and implements a strategic vision for a consistent schedule of dynamic adult programs and events across the district.
• Regularly evaluates and assesses adult programs, and services to ensure alignment with community needs and organizational goals.
• Compiles essential statistics regarding program participation and attendance, as well as emerging trends, to guide programming and event offerings.
• Participates in near- and long-term planning for adult programming and services.
• Will conduct and facilitate adult programming.
• Makes recommendations for new resources that will enhance the user experience.
• Works with the Program and Engagement team to help determine outcomes and standards; develops and maintains programming frameworks for the district.

• Works closely with the Programming and Engagement team to identify and engage with a diverse community of partners, ensuring the District’s programs and services reach adults of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
• Engage with community groups outside of the library to identify service gaps and needs in adult library services.
• Actively embeds in community groups and attends local meetings to build relationships, gather insights on community needs, and identify gaps in services.
• Establish a visible, consistent library presence within the community to promote library usage.
• Represent the library at community meetings and events as an expert in adult services.

• Creates and distributes marketing materials promoting adult services, programming, and outreach across multiple platforms.
• Collaborates with programming assistance in the design of in-house displays promoting library events and collections.
• Assists with the creation of forward-facing program descriptions.

• Provides reader’s advisory services for adults.
• Creates title lists and other such material to promote collections.
• Supports system-wide adult services, functions and programs.
